RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SAULKRASTI MUNICIPALITY DEVELOPMENT AND DEVELOPMENT PLANNING

The recommendations have been developed based on the results of the project implementation in Saulkrasti, where the project implementation area is located.

The aim of the recommendations is to provide proposals for the development of Saulkrasti municipality, which takes into account the current and future provision of ecosystems and their services in Saulkrasti municipality, planning development, respecting environmental capacity and recognizing environmental benefits in the context of provided ecosystem services.

The recommendations and the development programme of Saulkrasti municipality for 2014–2020, updated (27.11.2019) in accordance with elaborated recommendations is a practical example of the ecosystem services approach use for sustainable development planning at the local government level.
