Elaboration and economic evaluation of the development scenarios for Pilot Implementation Areas

For both pilot areas in Saulkrasti and Jaunķemeri elaboration and economic evaluation of the development scenarios is completed.

Based on the ecosystem services approach and using the economic assessment model of ecosystem services developed within the Project three development scenarios are modelled for each pilot area (1) Zero Scenario - providing that the situation will remain unchanged (2) Establishment of Nature Design Park in Saulkrasti and Resort park area in Jaunķemeri (3) hypothetical scenario – changes in land use by increasing of building area and decreasing forests area.   

Modelling of scenarios allow detecting benefits and threats of development proposals and helps to identified more sustainable development direction.
