Participants of the beauty pageant “Miss Scuba Latvia 2018” took part in habitat management activities aimed reducing the distribution of the invasive species Rosa rugosa in one of the pilot areas of the project - seacoast in Jaunķemeri - on September 8, 2018. The activities were organised by Worldwide Fund for Nature in cooperation with Nature Conservation Agency. Supervised by Senior State Environment Inspector Kārlis Lapiņš the ladies learned more about the coastal nature values, the role or their conservation and management practices.
The vision of the international beauty pageant “Miss Scuba” – to celebrate not only the inner beauty and courage of today’s modern women, but also to simultaneously advocate worldwide marine conservation.
