Registration for the project conference "Value of Nature - practices and experiences in use of ecosystem services assessment" has now been closed.

More than 120 participants have registered for the event. Not only Latvian experts in the field of ecosystem services have confirmed their participation in the conference, but also experts from Estonia, Lithuania and Finland will share their experiences.

Use of ecosystem services assessment is the way of measuring and presenting The Value of Nature – - the overall message of the LIFE EcosystemServices project conference. Main topics of the conference: 

• perspectives of applying ecosystem services approach in Latvia;
• practices and experiences in development of ecosystem services assessment on national scale;
• economic value of Nature;
• recommendations and practices in use of ecosystem services assessment in planning.  

Ecosystem services as a topic is relatively new for Latvia – it has been introduced quite recently by implementation of several projects. The aim of LIFE EcosystemServices project is to promote land-use planning based on ecosystem services assessment in Latvia. You can find the project results HERE.
