In Saulkrasti town new nature design objects will take place. At the end of September it is planned to present newly made objects and information stands to the society. An opening event will be organised.
Environmental objects are made by an artist Ivars Drulle who has gained international recognition. All nature design objects will be set up in the project "LIFE EcosystemServices" pilot area in Saulkrasti town - in the surroundings of Saulkrasti White Dune, which is very popular nature and culture object among Latvian and foreign guests.
The aim of the nature design objects is to educate society about local nature values and gentle treatment to them as well as to protect local treasures from harmful antropogenic load which is caused by the high number of visitors.
There will be made many footpridges, platforms and benches in surroundings. Also information stands and garbage bins will be set up.
Construction works will be made by the company "Fixman", which won the procurement.
Nature design objects will be made in the framework of project LIFE13 ENV/LV/000839 "LIFE EcoystemServices" which is implemented by the Nature Conservation Agency of Latvia, association "Baltic coasts" and Saulkrasti Municipality. Project is co-financed by the European Union and Latvian Environmental Protection Fund.
