On Saturday 23th of April 2016 during the Latvian Clean-up Campaign project "LIFE EcosystemServices" together with the volunteers worked in Jaunķemeri coastal forest and dune area.
32 volunteers collected 13 garbage bags in total. Mainly plastic and glass bottles were collected. Also nearby area and the parking lot of restaurant "Neptūns" was cleaned up and Jaunķemeri pilot area was partly released from invasive specie - dense Rosa rugosa overgrowth.
It should be noted that Jaunķemeri forest area wasn't very polluted, but now it has become cleaner and more pleasant to the tourists and local inhabitants. Some information stand constructions also were renewed.
During the common work event children had the opportunity to participate in some nature education activities. Activities helped to understand what is ecosystem and how it works. During the lunch time restaurant "Neptūns" served a soup and tea to all the volunteers.
