On the 29th of January 2016 in the Nature Conservation Agency of Latvia headquarters project "LIFE EcosystemServices" Steering Group meeting took place. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia, Nature Conservation Agency of Latvia, Saulkrasti Municipality and the association "Baltic coasts".

During the Steering Group meeting project "LIFE EcosystemServices" manager Inga Hoņavko presented to the audience all completed activities of year 2015 and project aims/priorities of year 2016.

During the year 2016 it is planned to complete 2nd experience exchange visit, develop nature design objects in Saulkrasti pilot area, complete the mapping of ecosystem services in both pilot areas as well as to participate in some nature education activities.

During the year 2016 it is also planned to finish 2nd short film about ecosystem services, to organize 3rd project seminar and common work event in project pilot area. Project representatives will continue the tradition of previous year to participate in different events with nature education actitivities.

It is important to add that during the Steering Group meeting high interest of different organisations about project results and interactive tool creation was observed.

Steering group meeting is organized in the framework of project LIFE13 ENV/LV/000839 "LIFE EcoystemServices" which is implemented by the Nature Conservation Agency of Latvia, association "Baltic coasts" and Saulkrasti Municipality. Project is co-financed by the European Union and Latvian Environmental Protection Fund.
