In the framework of project "LIFE EcosystemServices" this year during the summer season a number of educational activities about ecosystem services took place in Saulkrasti and Jaunķemeri pilot areas.
Project representatives organised educational activities in the Green Belt festival, in the Ķemeri National Park Travel day, during the Ķemeri Bat night and in the Saulkrasti town feast and Ķemeri feast.
All educational activities were organised in an interactive way to introduce visitors with the ecosystem services theme. Visitors had the opportunity to play an interactive games, which helped to discover what kind of benefits nature provides.
During the year 2015 project representatives created a number of nature environmental education materials - game "Sort ecosystem services", worksheet for pre-school children about cultural ecosystem services, as well as a game "Three meters of ecology." In the future, it planned to develop closer cooperation with the Nature Conservation Agency of Latvia Nature Education Centres and some of the educational activities about ecosystem services incoroporate in the Nature Education Centre programs.
With the Ķemeri feast project nature education activities in the 2015 concluded. Next nature education activity in the project will be presented in 2016 during the Ķemeri National Park Travel day in Jaunķemeri pilot area.

Nature education activities are organized in the framework of project LIFE13 ENV/LV/000839 "LIFE EcoystemServices" which is implemented by the Nature Conservation Agency of Latvia, association "Baltic coasts" and Saulkrasti Municipality. Project is co-financed by the European Union and Latvian Environmental Protection Fund.
